Father Murder Son: On Wednesday (February 15) night in Ambernath area of Mumbai, a 12-year-old boy was murdered by his own father by slitting his throat. The 35-year-old father was caught by the locals when he was trying to dispose of the body. The accused has been identified as Anand Ganesan.
According to the Ambernath police, at around 11.45 pm on Wednesday, Anand Ganesan was carrying his son’s body in a gunny bag to be dumped in a drain near the railway track. Only then the local people caught them and informed the police.
On Thursday morning, the police registered a case and arrested Anand and produced him in the court, where he was sent to police custody till 21 February. The son’s body has been sent to Ulhasnagar Central Hospital for postmortem.

Police said that Anand and his wife lived separately due to a family dispute. They had two children, a son and a daughter. Both the children lived with their mother. He used to come often to meet his children, but often quarreled with his wife here.
Rajendra Kote, a constable at Ambernath police station, said that on Wednesday, Anand took his 12-year-old son Akash to his home in Ambernath without informing him. Here he killed Akash by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon.
Police received information from the phone
According to the police, a person called and told that he had seen a dead body in a sack. The police team reached the spot and nabbed Anand before throwing the gunny bag in a drain near the railway track. He hid the sack behind a paan shop before arresting him with the help of the local people. After enquiry, the police recovered the dead body on the spot.
Kote told that there used to be frequent fights between husband and wife, but it is not yet clear what led to the murder. We will investigate the matter. The accused was not confessing to the crime earlier. When we checked his phone, pictures of the boy were found in it. The local people played a major role in catching him.
